How It Works

The tool measures the interval between two points in time. You set the start and end dates and times – the calculator determines how many hours, minutes, and full days fit between them. The result is displayed in two formats: total duration in hours and minutes, plus a breakdown by days, hours, and minutes.

The calculator computes absolute time between two points without considering work schedules, weekends, or holidays. It counts everything continuously from the start to the end point. It's useful when you need to find out how much time passed from a start date to an end date, whether it's a few minutes or several days.

When It Comes in Handy

Here are several situations where the app becomes useful:

Step-by-Step Guide

The interface is divided into two logical sections: start time and end time. In each, you'll find a date field and a time field.

1. Set the start point. In the "Start Date and Time" section, select a date from the calendar or click "Today" to insert the current day. Next to it, set the time – or use the "Now" button to automatically insert the current hours and minutes.

2. Set the end point. Similarly, fill in the "End Date and Time" section. Make sure the end doesn't come before the start, otherwise the calculation won't work.

3. Run the calculation. Click "Calculate". The results will appear below the button in two formats, and the selected range will display at the top so you can verify the entered values.

What the Numbers Mean

After clicking the button, you'll see two sets of numbers. The top block shows the total duration in pure form:

Below, after the label "In days", you'll find a detailed breakdown where the total duration is split across three levels:

This dual format lets you use either the pure arithmetic value or a more intuitive breakdown as needed.
