Shift Calendar
This tool is designed for visualizing work schedules. It generates a calendar grid based on a specified shift cycle and start date.
Shift Calendar
Setup Instructions
The calculations are based on a cyclic pattern. The pattern is a sequence of digits, where each digit represents a specific type of day. The cycle starts from your selected date and repeats indefinitely.
The digit 0 represents a day off by default. Digits 1 through 9 represent work shifts. For example, the pattern 1100 reads as two work days and two days off. Once the four-day cycle ends, it starts over.
- Cycle Start Date. Select the day your schedule begins. This day should correspond to the first digit in the pattern.
- Shift Schedule. Choose the appropriate option from the dropdown. Standard schedules like 2/2 (two on, two off), 3/3 (three on, three off), or 1/2 (one on, two off) are available. If your schedule is non-standard, select "Custom".
- Pattern. This field displays the numeric sequence of the selected schedule. When "Custom" is selected, enter your own sequence of digits from 0 to 9 without spaces or commas.
After filling in the fields, click the "Build Schedule" button. The service will generate a calendar and save your settings in the browser. Your parameters will be restored automatically the next time you visit the page.
For detailed configuration, open the "Settings" section. Here you can set shift names and their visual appearance. Each digit from 0 to 9 can be assigned a text label, such as "Night Shift", and a color. This section also lets you choose the week start day.
How to Read the Generated Schedule
The result is displayed as a calendar grid divided by months. The period covers one month before the cycle start date, the current month, and eight months ahead.
Colored borders appear under the numbers in each cell. The border color corresponds to the shift color set in the settings.
To view information about a specific day, click on its number. A tooltip will appear showing the shift number and name.
